P.U.S.H. - PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS

I just wanted to revisit the wonderful experience I had at the Women’s Retreat this past spring by positng some of my favorite iPhoneography shots I took that weekend. Enjoy!

I thought I would share a few things I do when I need to cut multiple pages or cards and want to make percise and consistent cuts or score lines.

  • The supplies I use are: a paper trimmer with a swing out arm, 2 Binder clips and a piece of scrap cardboard that is slightly thicker than the cardstock. I used the back cardboard for the last DCWV stack I purchased

  • If the measurement falls on the swing out arm, I clip a binder clip on the arm from the inside, lining up the inside edge of the clip at the measurement I need to cut or score. In this case, I lined the clip up at 5.5". Slide your cardstock against the edge of the binder clip and then cut or score.

  • If the measurement falls on the main part of the paper trimmer, I use a shim made out of cardboard. Using a piece that is thicker than the cardstock I am cutting allows the cardstock to butt up against the shim easily. The medium binder clips I use do not have very deep reach but are big enough to clip onto the shim and trimmer just fine. I lined up the edge of the shim in this demo at the 4.25" trim/score line. Rule of thumb: The smaller the measurement, the wider the shim. I secure the shim to the trimmer using at least 2 binder clips to secure the shim in place.

  • With the shim set in place, you can set up a pretty quick assembly line. Using these simple tips will help you with accurate measurements and consistent cards or pages. This tip helps most when making pages for my mini albums.

I hope you find this tutorial/tip useful. Feel free to trackback and leave comments.

HAPPY CRAFTING!

My younger sister gave us another little prince. It's so much fun cuddling with this little bundle of joy. I love both my nephews with all my heart and soul. I'm looking forward to taking pictures of this lil guy. My older nephew treats me like I am the paparazzi. When he sees a camera in my hand, he runs! I followed him around with 2 cameras at Chuck E Cheese friday afternoon. Photos from that fun afternoon to come.

The blog has a facelift! Finally. It's been over a year since I last blogged. I've decided to use this blog for everything not just my crafts. I look forward to exploring more. I'll be updating my Wordpress. The site may be wonky now and then as I make more updates and changes. Thanks for your patience.

XOXOX-
Amy
I apologize for being M.I.A. for so long. I've been taking a long break and I am trying to get my life back together. I've been crafting but nothing note worthy to share. In the coming months I am preparing to make a life transition and will be moving back out on my own. Mom & Dad are selling their house and by October we all will be moving to new homes.

Today I officially started my home search...apartment search. I may have found the perfect place. Not going to jinx it but send me good ju-ju and thoughts and prayers for the next week. I really need the stars to align. Once I sign on the dotted line with my John Hancock, the details will be posted here immediately.

I found the best realtor in town. His name is Will Bingham and works with Urban Square Realty. If you are looking to move in Austin or move TO Austin, you have to call this guy up. He called me back right of way when looking for a place and carted my happy ass to Starbucks and all over town and was a delight to work with. I just wanted to NOT like every apartment he showed me just so I could hang out with him but that would have been stalkerish huh? LOL J/K but he was a delight to work with. Never pressured me nor did he try to show me places that did not match what I was looking for. With a single phone call he was able to find what I was looking for. In the next week we shall see what the universe has in store for me. So I highly recommend this guy for all your needs. Looking for a home? Call Will. Looking for an apt? Call Will. Looking to list your home? Call Will.

You get the idea. I am a big fan...

Peace, love and good juju!
Amy
